Psychiatric assessment, or psychological screening, is the process of gathering information about a person within a psychiatric service, with the purpose of making a diagnosis.
Individual Counselling
Psychotherapy, also known as “talk-therapy” is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. It can effectively guide the client through their mental health concerns by using evidence-based techniques and treatment plans toward collectively-set objectives.
Couples Counselling
Couples counselling is a form of psychological therapy used to treat relationship distress for both individuals and couples.
Bio-Psycho-Social Triage
Bio-psychos-social triage is to assign respective levels of treatment for interested clients. A preliminary assessment is done by our senior staff members to better allocate our psychiatrists and/or counsellors for our clients’ needs, which may include various maladaptations related to mood, behavior, cognition, and perceptions.
Family Therapy
Family Therapy helps families improve communication and resolve conflicts. It is usually provided by a therapist, with all members of the family and individually as well.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. It is an effective treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Theory is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. Its most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems.
DBT
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) treatment is a type of psychotherapy — or talk therapy — that utilizes a cognitive-behavioral approach. DBT emphasizes the psychosocial aspects of treatment.
Memory Clinic
Memory Clinic is a specialized services for people with memory disorders , and related mood, personally and functional changes. The clinic provides a comprehensive assessment and intervention by a multidisciplinary team for people concerned about changes in their memory.
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is a brief, evidence-based treatment by UK Government for the treatment of people with mild to moderate dementia most commonly Alzheimer’s and Vascular dementia.
Individual Mindfulness
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing. When we’re mindful, we reduce stress, enhance performance, gain insight and increase our attention to others’ well-being.
Support Group
PHWC hosts multiple support groups such as women’s mental health, addiction, post-partum, and even suicide. Support groups are non-professional peer counselling sessions.
Wellness Day Centre
A multipurpose space designed for wellness-based activities ranging from workshops and seminars, group therapies, creativity/art-based classes, adult-focused mindfulness sessions, yoga as well as other physical activities.
