Confidentiality and online/physical therapy

Client Confidentiality is of utmost importance. All interactions with clinicians including scheduling of or attendance at appointments, content of your sessions, progress in counseling, and your records are confidential.  Confidentiality may be broken in case the client appears to be of harm to self or others; suspected abuse/neglect of minors or when the law required client records to be released in court proceedings. In this case, your emergency contact may be informed. During physical sessions clinician will ensure to provide a safe and private environment. Please note, that some aspects of online counseling involve a few inherent shortcomings such as varying time zones, strength of internet connection which may impact the delivery of services. Online counseling may be over Skype, Zoom, WhatsApp or via telephone. There is a risk of being overheard by anyone near you if you are not in a private room while taking part in online therapy. You will be responsible for arranging the necessary computer, telecommunications equipment, internet access and a location with sufficient lighting and privacy that is free from distractions or intrusion for the online session. Your therapist will do the same from their end.
